A Real Shady Blend
Real Shady Mix provides fabulous colors and a mix of ground covers and tall spires. Soil must be kept moist while the seeds are germinating and beginning to grow. Some of the flowers included are Baby Blue Eyes, Coleus, Columbine, Shasta, Daisy's, Forget Me Not, Foxglove, Poppy, and Wallflower. (Eighteen different flowers total. If you have high, filtered shade from trees or an area that gets direct sun for only a few hours a day, this shady blend of flowers will provide color and interest with as little as four hours of sun. Be sure to keep the weeds pulled so they do not compete with the flowers for water and sun. )In cool climates plant in the spring, 1 to 2 weeks before the last average frost date. The Real Shady Mix, Flower Blend, provides color even in a shady garden spot. This mix covers approximately 200 square feet. Celery - Chinese - Kin-Tsai The leaves have a strong celery flavor that is essential for Chinese cuisine. In 1972, bamboo slips, used to record recipes, were excavated from the Han dynasty tombs. Chinese celery was one of the ingredients on those recipes. The leaves are generally stir-fried and incorporated into meat and fish dishes. In warm climates, sow in the fall. The soil should be well drained and very fertile with lots of organic matter. |
