Dried Delights
This mix covers approximately 40 square feet. Dried flowers provide endless possibilities for flower arrangements, wreaths, swags and other craft ideas. Plant 1 to 2 weeks before the average last spring frost date. Sometimes called everlastings, these varieties are well-suited to drying and other methods of preservation. The Flowers, Dried Delights, will help you enjoy bouquets from your garden year-round when you grow these flowers. When fresh flowers are scarce and expensive in the winter, arrangements of "everlastings" are a wonderful alternative for indoor floral decorations. Instructions for drying the flowers are found on these seed packets. The Dried Flower packet contains seed of 20 different flowers that lend themselves to drying. Some of the flowers contained in the seed packet are Baby's Breath, Bells of Ireland, Chinese Lantern, Green Thumb, Love in a Mist, Money plant, Pampas Plume, and Strawflowers. Swiss Chard - Italian White Ribbed In warm climates, plant in late summer for fall/winter crop. Swiss Chard is a green that many seasoned gardeners claim everyone must grow. instead of growing beets, the plant grows wide, dark green, heavily crumpled leaves that are very tasty. It will also tolerate partial shade. The Swiss Chard Italian White Ribbed, 'Beta Vulgaris', is almost the perfect vegetable. White Ribbed Swiss Chard can either be steamed, stir-fried, or eaten fresh. Plant in early spring, 2 to 4 weeks before last frost or as late as 2 months before first fall frost. |
