Fuchsia - ShadowDancer® Betty

Fuschia is one of the Hummingbirds favorite flowers. They are great plants for greenhouses, window boxes, baskets, homes, and flower beds. Fuchsias should be planted in warm, sheltered spots in well-drained soil. Fuchsias do not like to dry out. The flowers, which are produced during the summer and early fall, are droopy and come in many colors. The Fuchsia ShadowDancer® Betty, 'Fuchsia hybrid', is a very early blooming Fuschia with exceptional uniformity and compact growth. The red sepals with white corolla flowers perch well above the bushy small leaved foliage. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. In many parts of the country (and especially if planted in a hanging pot) the fuchsia will require daily watering. These plants have dark green leaves often with red stems. Keep the soil moist to the touch from spring through autumn. This Proven Selections plant blooms all summer long. ... more

Begonia - Spectrum Kari In cool or wet climates, consider growing your Spectrum begonias on a patio or in porch boxes. These plants perform best when soil temperatures are above 60°F and when planted in flowerbeds. Too much shade however, may cause the plants to become soft and less prolific in bloom. This begonia is a cross between the winter flowering Begonia socotrana, and the summer flowering tuberous types of begonias. The Begonia Spectrum Kari, 'Begonia x hybrida', are wonderfully floriferous plants that are at home in the garden, or in patio containers. The Spectrum Kari begonias are distinguished by their large, double flowers that are orange in color. They should not be subjected to more than ˝ day of sun as they will not tolerate a full sun location. These very vigorous Spectrum Begonias are excellent in porch boxes and hanging baskets.
